We often have expecting mothers ask us if our dresses will work for them throughout pregnancy. They tell us that they struggle to find maternity wear that truly feels like them. It got us thinking...Why should you have to compromise on style or invest in an entirely new wardrobe for such a short chapter in their life? Why can’t our clothes be designed to adapt in the same way that our bodies are designed to adapt? 

When we raised these questions in the studio, the mums on our team told us that they found themselves reaching for their AYM clothing more than ever during their pregnancies. We found out that we’d created timeless maternity wear completely by accident. Since then, it’s felt like we’ve been gatekeeping the secret to a comfortable and stylish pregnancy, so we decided to invite the gorgeous Meg - who at the time of shooting these images was 6 months pregnant - to showcase the team’s favourite pregnancy friendly pieces, so that other mums can finally enjoy them too.

For special occasions, the majority of mums on our team picked out the Venus Long Sleeve Dress in Bamboo for its supportive, figure-hugging fit. The bamboo fabric is slightly tighter than other pieces which they said offered a compression effect that didn’t just support their bust, but their bump too.

Despite the thick fabric it still has plenty of stretch which, paired with the adjustable waist ties, allowed lots of growing room around the tummy area.We forgot to mention, Meg is wearing her usual AYM size small in all of these pieces, despite being 6 months pregnant. The girls on our team didn’t buy new pieces for pregnancy either.
