On a planet so big and vast, we’re supporting the earth by keeping our supply chain small

Earth Day is often a moment of reflection - a time to look at the bigger picture and consider how our everyday choices shape the world around us. But for us, responsibility isn’t something we revisit once a year. It’s built into how we work every single day.

On a planet so big and vast, the simplest decisions can sometimes have the greatest impact. For us, that starts close to home.

All of our clothing is made here in England, with a carefully considered, localised supply chain. Much of our fabric is milled and dyed in Leicester in the UK, with additional sourcing from trusted partners across Europe. Our garments are brought to life by two family-run factories in North London, and our warehouse operates out of Redhill, Surrey. Our design studio sits in Sussex, where ideas are developed and shared digitally with our garment technologist, working directly from one of our factories. Every step is intentionally connected, carefully considered, and kept as close to home as possible.

In an industry where supply chains often span many continents, keeping things within the UK and Europe allows for a level of transparency that’s increasingly rare. It means shorter journeys and lower emissions, yes, but it also allows us to know exactly who we’re working with, how things are being made, and the conditions behind every piece. We work with skilled makers who are paid fairly, in environments where safety and respect are non-negotiable. These are long-term relationships, built on trust and shared values. For us, locality isn’t just about geography; it’s about traceability and accountability at every stage.

A localised supply chain also gives us more control over how and when things are produced. To avoid overproducing, we work in small batches and offer pre-orders to ensure we’re making only what’s needed. It’s a slower, more thoughtful approach that reduces waste and keeps us accountable to what we create.

Beyond location, responsibility runs through every layer of our process. From carefully selected fabrics that meet rigorous certification standards, to packaging designed with minimal environmental impact, each choice is part of a bigger picture. We avoid animal products, prioritise durability, and design pieces to be worn again and again for years, not just for a season.

We also recognise that responsibility doesn’t end once a piece reaches you. Longevity is a shared commitment. Through considered design and access to our repair service with SOJO, we aim to support a longer life for every garment - because the most sustainable piece is one that you already own.

Earth Day is a reminder that global change is built on local action. While the scale of the challenge can feel overwhelming, we believe in focusing on what we can control by keeping things close, intentional, and transparent.

This ethos has been woven into the fabric of AYM since the very beginning. Not just today, but all year round.

Because on a planet so big and vast, staying small can make all the difference.
