We welcomed our community into our London garment factory, for an exclusive 'behind the seams' look at how our dresses are made

Radical Transparency
In a world where fashion has become fast and disposable, we choose a different path - one that honours the people, time, and skill behind every stitch.
At AYM, each garment begins as an idea in our Sussex design studio and comes to life in our London factory through the hands of our expert makers. Every seam tells a story of care, craft, and connection.
We wanted to share that story with you - to open our doors and invite you to see how your clothes are made. Because when we understand the journey behind what we wear, we begin to value it more deeply.
Meet our Makers

Aggie
Aggie is one of our pattern cutters. He grew up helping at his father's garment factory in Tottenham, where he learnt everything he knows about his craft. He has a wicked sense of humour, dislikes early mornings, and loves to listen to music while he's cutting to keep him in the zone.

Ambar
Ambar is one of our machinists. She grew up in Pakistan and moved to England when she was 16 years old. She began sewing at home to earn some money and it came so naturally to her that she never looked back. She told us she feels her most relaxed when she's sewing as it's become second nature to her over the years.

Made in the UK
Proudly made in the UK since 2012, we've been working with Mehmet's family run factory for 5 years now, following the closure of our in-house Sussex garment studio in 2020.
Making this switch enabled us to become more responsive to demand and to elevate our designs, thanks to the advanced skill level of the talented makers on Mehmet's team.

Expertly Crafted
The makers at our North London factory have been honing their craft for decades, and are passionate about creating high quality, long lasting clothes they are proud of.

From sketch to final stitch
Our guests were able to witness our new Diva Dress being crafted from start to finish, stopping at every station to chat to the makers and learn about the process. You can sign the waitlist for early access to the Diva Dress here.
At every stage - from pattern cutting to sewing to quality control - our makers demonstrated their craft, explained the tools and machines they use, and answered an array of thoughtful questions.
Sustainability consultant Natalie Binns joined us to share insights into how brands can minimise waste and make responsible choices throughout production.

After the tour, we gathered around our design table for pastries, juices and an exclusive preview of our upcoming collection. It was so great to hear the feedback from our guests and our community channel, who tuned in via livestream to join us.
We even set up a changing room so that guests could try on the new collection pieces, and we're so glad we did! Each dress reveal was followed by the most heartwarming display of girlhood, with everybody celebrating and hyping eachother up.
And just like that, it was time for us all to make our way home, with a complimentary AYM piece in hand, fresh florals and a full heart.
The day left us feeling deeply inspired and connected to our community of thoughtful customers and talented makers. As we continue to design and produce here in London, we’re proud to be part of a growing movement that celebrates local manufacturing, fair working conditions and responsible craftsmanship. This event reaffirmed why we do what we do - to create beautiful, enduring clothes and to honour the hands that make them.
We want to have a positive impact on the Planet and the animals and people that live here. If you'd like to dive into the details of our sustainability decisions and impacts, we explore these in more depth in our responsibility pages.
