This DIY shows you how to make a simple face mask using something we all probably have at home... a spare sock! There is no sewing required, it takes less than 5 minutes to make.
We recommend using a cotton or bamboo fabric sock.
Please note, while a mask can reduce exposure to dust, allergens, germs and bodily fluids, it is not a respirator and will not eliminate the risk of contracting disease or infection. This is a non medical grade mask and we can not say whether or not this will offer any protection against Covid-19 (coronavirus).
1. Take an ankle length sock. Cut the sock in half.
2. Cut the sock up the vertical side.
3. Turn the piece of fabric horizontally and fold in half. Cut two small slices about 2 cm in from both outer edges.
4. Stretching the fabric out, it will reveal 2 holes that can be looped over your ears.
